Tiered Short Blocks
Our short block tiers are organized by power target and intended use. Every tier lists exact components, the power level it supports, and required supporting mods.
Tier 1 — OEM Rebuild
Power: Up to 300 whp | Platform: EJ / FA
Factory-spec short block rebuild using OEM or OEM-equivalent components. New rings, bearings, and seals. Cylinder walls measured and honed to spec.
Tier 2 — Street Performance
Power: 300–400 whp | Platform: EJ / FA
Upgraded forged pistons, ACL or King race bearings, ARP head studs. Bored, honed, and plateaued. Handles pump E or low-concentration ethanol.
Tier 3 — High Output
Power: 400–550 whp | Platform: EJ
Manley or Wiseco forged pistons, H-beam rods, fully decked block. Big-turbo street/track. Requires E85 or race fuel and professional tune.
Tier 4 — Race
Power: 550 whp+ | Quoted individually.
